BCS Tractors History

In the realm of large-scale projects, the genesis often lies in the passion of a single individual. The remarkable success tale of BCS attests to this narrative.

Established in 1943 by Luigi Castoldi, a visionary with exceptional abilities, the company burgeoned from humble beginnings. Luigi, prior to founding BCS, operated a modest workshop in a small town near Milan. His entrepreneurial spirit was fueled by a fervent desire to alleviate the challenges faced by farmers in taming towering grass for livestock feed and landscaping.

Driven by this vision, Luigi diligently worked on creating the first motorized mower. His invention revolutionized agricultural technology, providing a respite from the arduous physical labor farmers endured. The popularity of his invention soared, prompting Luigi to commence engine production for his motor mowers. Progressing steadfastly, in the late 1960s, Luigi introduced his own groundbreaking creation—the lightweight, multifunctional, self-propelled tractor riding on two wheels. This compact and versatile model fearlessly confronted established competition, dominated by large and cumbersome tractors. This marked the moment when the progenitor of self-propelled mowers effortlessly penetrated the global market.

Over the next decade, Luigi Castoldi continued his relentless pursuit of enhancing agricultural productivity. In 1970, he achieved another milestone by creating rotary discs for cutting grass, a crucial innovation that further propelled the company forward.

Presently, the Italian powerhouse, BCS, manufactures an extensive array of agricultural machinery, encompassing specialized harvesters, tractors, two-wheeled tractors, self-propelled mowers, walk-behind tractors, accessories, and professional maintenance equipment. At every juncture of production, the BCS brand maintains its distinguished mark. Each model undergoes meticulous development in 3D programs, facilitating precise adjustments to appearance and functionality. Rigorous testing precedes the sale of all equipment, ensuring safety, minimal noise, and unparalleled quality.

In 1988, BCS acquired major companies like Ferrari in Luzzara and Mosa, and in 1999, it added PASQUALI to its portfolio. This strategic expansion enabled the company to market its equipment under four distinct brands. BCS now oversees three factories in Abbiategrasso, Luzzara, and Cusago.

Today, BCS stands as a global entity, having earned the acclaim of millions of consumers worldwide. The company is lauded for the high quality and reliability of its diverse range of agricultural equipment, cementing its place as a beacon of innovation and excellence in the industry.
